What is the Interlock Device I need after a DUI in Bullhead City, Flagstaff, Kingman and Lake Havasu City, Arizona?

 CERTIFIED IGNITION INTERLOCK DEVICE

After you are charged with a DUI in Arizona, it is highly likely you will be asked to have an ignition interlock device installed on your vehicle. You may be wondering what this is and how it operates…

A CERTIFIED IGNITION INTERLOCK DEVICE is a breath alcohol testing instrument connected to the ignition and power system of the vehicle. The driver blows into the device before attempting to turn the ignition. If the driver’s alcohol level is above a certain level, the vehicle will not start. While the vehicle is operating, the driver must blow into the device at random intervals. If it isn’t provided, or the sample exceeds a set blood alcohol level, the device will log the event, warn the driver and then start an alarm (e.g., lights flashing) until the ignition is turned off or a clean breath sample has been provided.

We have attached a link to provide a listing of authorized Certified Ignition Interlock Installers.
